Egress Safety Criteria for Nursing Hospitals

Nursing hospitals have a high probability of casualties during fire disaster because they many patients with impaired mobility. In this study, and egress simulations were conducted to evaluate the safety typical nursing hospital. The available safe time (ASET) prototype hospital was calculated using Fire Dynamics Simulator, required (RSET) estimated by Pathfinder, reflecting characteristics occupants. then evaluated comparing ASET RSET, considering number guides delay time. According simulation results, RSET increased as decreased. addition, it is that at least 20 workers (egress guides) should be on duty in hospital, even shiftwork night duty. Based criteria been proposed terms normalized numbers can very easily applied operation.
